Support the School

Nashville is known around the world for country music, but the traditions that built that identity cannot be taken for granted.

Traditional country music does not survive through recordings and archives alone. It survives when musicians teach it, students learn it, and people continue to play it together.

The Nashville School of Traditional Country Music gives that work a permanent home. Your support helps connect students with accomplished musicians, provide scholarships and instruments, and create opportunities for this music to be learned, played, and passed on.

The Nashville Country School Foundation is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization chartered in the State of Tennessee

Donate an Instrument

Donated instruments help us make instruction more accessible to students who may not have an instrument of their own.

We are often looking for:

  • Acoustic and electric guitars

  • Fiddles

  • Banjos

  • Mandolins

  • Steel guitars

  • Upright and electric basses

Our needs change throughout the year. Please contact us before arranging a delivery so we can confirm that the instrument is appropriate for a current student or program.

Provide a Space

The school relies on suitable, affordable places for classes, rehearsals, workshops, and events.

If you own or manage a music venue, church, community center, school, storefront, office, or other space that is available during the week, we would be glad to discuss whether it could serve one of our programs.

Donated space helps us manage program costs, keep tuition within reach, and offer more instruction to the community.

Employer Matching Gifts

Many employers match charitable contributions made by their employees. If your company has a matching-gift program, your donation to the Nashville Country School Foundation may qualify for additional support.

Contact your employer's human resources, community relations, or charitable-giving office to ask whether your gift is eligible and how to submit a matching request.

For assistance, contact Meredith Watson at 646-346-4472 or use the link below.

  • Include the School in Your Estate Plans

A planned gift can provide long-term support for the school's instruction, scholarships, and public programs. Depending on your circumstances, there are several ways to include the Nashville Country School Foundation in your financial or estate plans.

A gift through a will or living trust may be designated as a specific amount, a percentage of an estate, or part of the remaining balance after other commitments have been fulfilled.

  • Beneficiary Designations

The Foundation may be named as a beneficiary of certain retirement accounts, life insurance policies, bank accounts, or investment accounts.

  • Gifts of Stock

Publicly traded securities may be given to support the Foundation's work. Financial and tax considerations vary, so donors should consult their professional advisers before making a gift.

  • Other Planned Gifts

If you are considering a gift of royalties, instruments, historical materials, or another noncash asset, please contact us first. We can discuss whether the proposed gift fits the Foundation's needs and gift-acceptance policies.
